"I am very excited to be the new principal at Levi Dickey. We have fabulous students, parents and staff. We are working very hard to ensure all students are performing at the highest level for which they are capable. In January, we started a new MIND program. Students will be working on the computers in our computer lab with this outstanding math program. Students will be working with JiJi, a penguin who has to walk across the screen when students give the correct answer. Be sure to ask your child about JiJi. Part of the MIND program also involves our second and third grade students all learning to play the piano keyboard with our music teacher, Mrs. Bell. Our fourth grade students are learning to play the recorder with Mrs. Bell also. We have started intervention programs during off-track time for students who are not at grade level. We hope this will give students the extra boost to be at grade level by the end of the school year. We have monthly student awards assemblies to celebrate students' successes. We bring in some type of entertainment for the students at this monthly assembly, with several being paid for by our PTA. We will continue to work to bring new programs to our school that will help enrich our students both academically and socially."
